What You Need to Know About Wiring Your TND765 or HD100 to Your Truck

Rand McNally offers 2 EOBR solutions. The first is the TND765, which is a complete stand-a-lone EOBR, as well as a full featured TND730 Truck GPS. You get the best of both worlds. The 765 comes stock with a 9-pin Deutsch Connector, that plugs into the Truck's diagnostic port, located under the dash to the left side of the steering wheel. This cable will normally fit most 1998 to present Class 4-8 heavy-duty Trucks. Rand McNally offers optional cabling for those truck's that do not come with the 9-pin connector. See more on cabling below. The standard cable has both a male and female 9-pin connector for convenience. You plug the female into your Truck's 9-pin diagnostic port and use the male for any maintenance, that might be needed. The third connector is a Souriau 8-pin, that plugs into the back of the TND765. Please NOTE: Cabling for the TND760 are NOT compatible for the TND765.

The second solution is the HD100, which was designed for those Truckers who have already purchased a TND720 or TND730 GPS and only need to add the EOBR. The HD100 comes stock with a 9-pin Deutsch Connector, that plugs into the same diagnostic port, located under the dash to the left side of the steering wheel. This cable will normally fit most 1998 to present Class 4-8 heavy-duty Trucks. Rand McNally offers optional cabling for those truck's that do not come with the 9-pin connector. See more on cabling below. The standard cable has 1 female 9-pin connector, that plugs into your Truck's 9-pin diagnostic port. You would have to temporarily remove it for any maintenance. The third connector is a Molex 20-pin, that plugs into the HD100.

There are several optional Cables available at the Rand McNally website for those trucks that do not have the 9-pin Deutsch Connector. These cables are either for the TND765 or the HD100 and are not interchangeable.
