Thor Remote Controls (2.29 Min)
Inverters will suck the juice from your battery, even when they are not being used. So shutting them off, when not in use, is important to prevent your battery from discharging and to save on fuel cost. If the inverter is mounted close to the driver, then a remote switch is not needed, however, because of the high current drawn on the 12 Volt side, the inverter should be mounted as close to the battery as is reasonably possible.
When the inverter is mounted out of site or in a harder to reach place, a remote switch is need for convenience. Without being able to conveniently shut the inverter off when you are not using it, chances are you will tend not to. Be careful when buying a remote Inverter switch though, as there are different models that will only work with specific Inverters.
