What else besides the Vu Qube do I need to watch TV? You will need an active subscription from a service provider including a receiver or a free-to-air receiver, in addition to a TV. You will also need a coaxial cable to connect your satellite TV receiver to the TV. The wiring necessary to connect the Vu Qube to the satellite TV receiver is included with the purchase of your Vu Qube System. Vu Qube has a single out-put. What does this mean? What this means is that you need to use a SINGLE TUNER receiver. For DISH Network we recommend the 301 or 311 receivers. For DIRECTV, we recommend the D11 or D12 receivers. You may be able to use a dual receiver, but they tend to be problematic. No, you will NOT violate your warrantee by using a dual receiver. Can I get HD with my Vu Qube? The Vu Qube CAN receive HD signal with DISH Network. The Vu Qube CANNOT receive HD signal with DIRECTV because they use the Ka band. King is working on updating the Vu Qube to receive the new Ka band HD signal from DIRECTV but is not there yet. Can I paint the Vu Qube? Yes, the Vu Qube can be painted but you must use non-metallic paint. Metal will block the satellite signal from reaching the antenna inside the Vu Qube.
Why Can't I "lock-on" to a signal? There are potentially several reasons you are unable to "lock-on" to a signal. Here are some solutions in order to the most common problems:
Believe it or not, the most common problem is that the coaxial cable from the Vu Qube is not plugged into to the receiver correctly. Make sure that the co-axial cable FROM the Vu Qube is plugged into the "Satellite-in port" on the receiver. While you are checking the connection, make sure your receiver is properly connected to the TV.
Make sure there are not any physical obstructions. The Vu Qube needs to have a CLEAR VIEW of the SOUTHERN SKY. Power lines, trees, buildings, other tall vehicles, obstructions mounted on your roof, your smoke stack, etc. can all block the satellite signal from reaching your Vu Qube. You may need to reposition your vehicle for a clear view.
Water can interfere with the satellite signal. Heavy rain or excessive dew on the Vu Qube can block your signal. If the Vu Qube is covered with moisture or morning dew, you can wipe the cover dry. If you are in the middle of a heavy rain fail, you may need to wait until the rain subsides to acquire the signal.

Yes, but keep in mind that the Vu Qube is a single LNB Satellite antenna, so it can ONLY be connected to 1 Satellite at a time. That means when you change from 1 Satellite to another, you will have to re-download the programming for the new Satellite. If by chance you want to jump back and forth between the 2 Dish Satellites, this could be irritating, but if your like most people who understand the Vu Qube is an inexpensive portable Satellite designed to get setup quickly when you travel, so you can watch TV, it should not be an issue. If you want a Satellite system that will closer mimic your home Satellite, you should consider purchasing a more expensive Satellite Antenna with at least 2 LNBs (preferably 3) that will act more like your home system.
