I have lost more than 1 tire to under inflation. Once while towing my boat, the tire went flat and the boat started to tip sideways and slide off the Trailer. It looked like it was going to tip over into the ditch. I was going fairly slow when it happened, so the damage was limited to the tire itself. Had I been driving at highway speeds, I am almost certain, the boat would have tipped. over sideways. Of course we would never have our family riding in a boat while we are driving at highway speeds, but we do in our RVs. Do I really have to ask you how important is the safety of your family? Tires loose air regularly, which causes the tire to flex more than it was designed too, including an unnatural side to side movement. This causes excessive friction, which in turn causes your tire to heat and run very hot. The heat, not only permanently damages your tires, but eventually will cause tire failure, including blowouts. If your family or friends are riding in the RV, they can be hurt. The TireStat Tire Monitor is an inexpensive and positive way to constantly monitor both high and low tire pressure, as well as heat build-up. TireStat also monitors temperature. The Monitor is preprogrammed to display your vehicles tire layout, otherwise there would be only 1 part number. The universal Transceiver is an amplifier to make sure the monitor receives an accurate signal from the Sensors. Since 4 wheel vehicles are not long enough to cause signal decay, a Transceiver is not needed. Each tire will need 1 sensor. Today vehicles are much more tightly sealed and insulated; installing accessories has become particularly difficult. Note: There are several Monitors with the same number of tires. They will all work on all vehicles with that number of tires, but the drawing that shows the layout of your wheels (on the Monitor) will be different, so make sure you match up the right drawing for your vehicle. How to Choose a TireStat™ Tire Pressure MonitorsThe best way to determine which TireStat™ Monitor is right for your vehicle, is as follows: First determine how many wheels your vehicle has. (The photo should say TireStat™ # (# is Total number of Tires) Choose the number of vehicles (if applicable). This will be 1 if there is no Trailer. 2, if there is a Trailer. (The photo should say "Vehicle A" or both "Vehicle A" and "Vehicle B") Finally, choose the picture that matches your tire configuration layout. Pay attention to the number of axles & tires per axle. Tip for RVers who pull an additional Trailer. Choose a TireStat Monitor that will will include the Tires on the pulled Trailer for extra safety. For example, if you have a 6 Wheel RV and you pull an extra 4 Wheel Trailer, choose a 6 Tire TireStat monitor. i.e. MA-TPMS-10HT-6S-4S.
