GPS with Truck Routing

Please Note: RoadTrucker is not recommending the Co-Pilot. There are too many compatibility issues (Vista & 64 Bit computers).  The underlying database is outdated (Feb, 2008). ALK is working on upgrading the Co-Pilot and we will change our recommendation as soon as we feel they have been successful. If you liked the co-Pilot, you may like the PC*Miler GPS, as the routing software is supposed to be close to the Co-Pilot, except the underlying Database has been updated. Please Note: RoadTrucker is not recommending the Garmin. The unit is supposed to be for Truckers, yet it defaults to "Auto", when you turn it on. We feel Garmin has been remiss at best, if not outright irresponsible for releasing a Truck GPS that defaults to "Auto" when you turn it on. Garmin is riding on the notoriety of their Auto GPS. As far as Auto GPSes go, we feel Garmin is the best, but as far as Trucker GPSes go, we believe the Rand McNally is superior in every way.

1* Cobra Max Height, Weight, Length & Width vary according to the type of Truck chosen. For example, 3 Axle Tractor 2 Axle Trailer Max limits are Weight 80,000, Length no Limit, Width 102", Height 13.5'.

2* Rand McNally Trailer is 48', 53', Straight, Double or Triple.

3* Garmin does not seem to have limits on the Width, Length

4* Pc*Miler & the CoPilot does not seem to have limits on Height, Width, Length & Weight

5* Teletype does not seem to have limits on Height, Width, Length & Weight

However, we will wave that and allow a return for Limited period within 14 Days of purchase or 5 days after delivery with a 15% restocking Fee.  Note: Scratch or damage the GPS in any way and you bought it. There is a $100 manufacturer's fee for returning a GPS that is anything other than pristine new condition.
