Snow is expected to develop across north central and southwest Montana Tuesday night and continue through Thursday evening.

It could become heavy at times in the mountains along the Rocky Mountain Front and in the Little and Big Belt Mountains. The heaviest snow is expected to fall Wednesday through Thursday morning.

Therefore, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for elevations above 5000 feet in th...ose mountain areas, which are shaded in blue, as total snow amounts of 12 to 18 inches are possible, causing snow-covered and icy roads there, while lesser amounts are likely at lower elevations. Visibility of less than one-half mile
will also be possible in snow and blowing snow over mountain passes and ridges.
