For those who are owner-operators or fleet managers, what is your primary concern in the trucking business? How would you rank your priorities in terms of manpower, equipment, and compliance?

Safety is always your #1 priority. If you get hurt the next load doesn't matter much. But I don't know if you can rank the concerns of an O/O. They all weigh equally, more like juggling balls than lists. Can you find a load? Can you afford the fuel? Will you blow a tire? Will they pay on time? Will your trailer hold up another year? Will the payments get there on time? Is your family ok at home? Will you be able to put some money aside for the slow weeks? Drivers think about so many things, its hard to rank. They are all very real concerns though.
Wow. Yes, absolutely right. "Juggling balls so that nothing falls". Safety and budgeting always come first though. Nothing can beat heading home safe with food for the family
