Enhanced versions of Eaton Fuller Advantage (FA) Series UltraShift Plus transmission and Cummins ISX15 engine were combined on an integrated powertrain, claiming customers will see a 3-6% fuel economy improvement over current engine/transmission combinations.

Prior to this, the Eaton transmission and Cummins engine mentioned have undergone enhancements to optimize their performance when combined. The transmission will weigh less and will eliminate the need for an oil cooler, while the engine will introduce SmartTorque2 which will allow operators to stay in the top gears longer.

New features include vehicle acceleration management (VAM) system designed for smoother shifting and fuel savings; reduce driveline impact and preserve tires due to controlled acceleration.

"...a superior powertrain package with which both fleet owners and professional drivers will be thrilled,” Tim Sinden, president of North American truck operations, (Eaton) said.
