It's a month and a half to go before the deadline. The International Fuel Tax Association, Inc. has issued its 2013 International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) credential grace period memo.

This is for carriers to renew their IFTA license and decals. IFTA Articles of Agreement Section R655 states that carriers renewing their license and decals have a two-month grace period, January and February, to display their credentials.

To operate in IFTA jurisdictions during the two-month grace period, carriers must display the 2013 IFTA license and decals, the 2012 IFTA license and decals (provided renewal was filed by December 31, 2012), or a valid single trip permit from the IFTA jurisdiction in which they are operating.

Note: The grace period applies only to the display of the 2013 IFTA license and decals, not the renewal requirement of the license and decals. IFTA license and decal renewals must be filed by December 31, 2012.
