Jefrey Ford (Jeffery) Lincoln Park, Michigan Hi Jeffery, Nope.... you got it right this time... :o) And this is a real good one. Send me your address and I send you your gift of appreciation for taking the time to help keep our website professional. I know you will have to appreciate that you spelled your name wrong in the first email to me. Can I get a little gift? LOL. Frank Note: Jeffery tried to get a free gift by making suggestion for improvments on the website. I mentioned he was going in the wrong direction, we were looking for mistakes. Because you asked... Your letters to the editor (Customer feedback) page (below) talks about Tina, the Product manager - but it's spelled "manger"
Kevin Reigrut Essex, Maryland Hi Kevin, It never ceases to amaze me that we still have so many very old errors on the website. And on our Customer Feedback page to boot. Thanks Frank This is the quote form your Welcome to RoadTruck page "Our Canadian friends are enjoying a Civic Holiday Monday, so Koolatron Cooler orders will be a day later. If your up there in Canada, "Enjoy the day off". Your should be you're
Nadia Leaf Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Hi Nadia, Well look at you.. Caught a temporary one. Send me your address and you got our little complimentary gift. And thanks for caring enough to let us know. I'll be removing that today. Frank Hi There! I think I found a mistake on your site....this is the paragraph in which it was found: "Following are Customers who sent in website errors they spotted and received a little gift of appreciation from RoadTrucker for helping us keep our website error free of mistakes." "....error free of mistakes" is redundant, and error-free is usually hyphenated.
Rodger Poole Fairborn, Ohio Hi Roger, Well you pointed out some interesting things (Roger sent me 3 emails) and I sure do appreciate your effort. All of you points are valid, but we have to allow some of them like capitalizing words to make them more noticeable. I made some changes above to reflect your suggestions and add a little clarification. Your thank you gift is on the way. Frank On your truck poster's page, you feature a tin stating "You can always count on......Seagrave". Below the picture is the description spelling "Seabrave". Truck Driver's Appreciation week is approaching at the end of August and I anticipate placing an order for some of your great items!!
Kari Michaelis Marion, WI Hi Kari.. Nice try.. but... The posters are directly put there from AllPoster.com. If you read the above paragraph, we explain this. However, you were reading the fine print and your heart is in the right place, so we will send you a little gift of appreciation. Just send me your address. Frank Your web site is great, but since I am an English teacher. . . "coming shortly we will have a Trucker's Forum and a Trucker's Chat so Driver's" . . . Drivers should not have an apostrophe since it is not possessive. Also, Do you want Trucker to be plural? If so, Truckers' would be what you want!
Teresa Stenoien Havertown, Pennsylvania Hi Teresa, Well you found another one that has been out there forever. Just goes to show that you never get it totally right, especially if you keep updating the website as we do. Thank you. Send me your address and I'll mail you a little thank you. Frank Hi Frank, I almost hate to mention it, since you have all been so nice, but I found a spelling error on your website. It is on the FAQ page at the bottom, referring to photos. The word "there" in the following sentence is wrong - "Even when we use photos from our suppliers, we almost always crop and reduce there size for faster download". This type of "there" is possessive so it is spelt "their". I know this is a bit picky, but I can see that you want to be the best, so I hope you won't mind my mentioning it!
Janet Robinson :) Groveland, IL Hi Janet, It's interesting that you should point this out. I wrestled with this because I always thought the same as you, but I was told that their is only for people and not things. But I agree with you so I'm sending you a little thank you gift.. :o) Frank I like your site - on the main page it says: "RoadTrucker donates a part of every sales to help disaster victims. Take a moment and browse our Humanitarian page." I think that should be a part of every SALE. This <quoted at bottom> should read Save Down time and REDUCE (without the S) operating cost [the verb is agreeing with the subject lights which is plural so no S on the verb). Also lower in the same listing where is says "your getting" that should be you're. ____________________ LED Tail Lights/LED Truck Lights. LED Truck Lights Save Down time and Reduces Operating Costs.
Beth Rice Raleigh, North Carolina Hi Beth, Oh no... Your not Miss Hubble my 7th grade English teacher are you? :o) Your right on all your catches. Wonderful.. Woops... I mean you're on 2 of those.. Sorry.. :o) Send me your address and I'll send you a little gift to say Thank you. Frank p.s. Miss Hubble said I was the only person she ever had in her class that spelled the same word in the same composition 3 different ways and all of them were wrong.. Ouch.... You have some really nice product to offer and affordable. Your web site is well designed. I did notice a spelling error in the word chang.... should be change. Its in the following : Ok.. so your probably wondering if you can get all 3 promotions together. Well guess what? You can thank Marla Tilton in Meridian, ID because she was our first customer to take advantage of our FREE Shipping & Handling and she took the time to request all 3. She not only got it for herself, but she got it for everyone else too. We did chang the offer from over $200, to 5 items or more because of our low margins. The heavy products like TVs and Microwaves made us rethink our offer
Leah Beaulieu New Haven, Connecticut Hi Leah, Well bless your little hawk eye if you didn't spot one that got by everyone. And right on the page we offer the free gift. Great catch! Send me your address and I'll send a little gift your way just to say thanks for caring enough to help keep RoadTrucker.com professional. And thanks for your kind words. We are striving to make RoadTrucker.com an easy to use website for finding those items that help make the trucker's life a little easier. Frank Hello, I am brousing your site with my new trucker husband. We have found several things we will be getting him when he gets his truck next week.I did find an error on your site. In the description of the tire thumper, the plural form is spelled with an apostrophe which is incorrect and easy is incorrectly spelled as east. I was so happy when I found your site. I was looking for all these things he wanted and thought I would never find them in one place! Thanks so much and we are looking forward to placing our first order very soon!!
Jeff and Carrie Adams Georgetown, IL Hi Jeff and Carrie, That's a good catch and much appreciated. Thank for helping keep our site professional. Send me your address and I'll send you a little gift of appreciation for taking the time to let us know.
ps. I am leaving for Asia Monday, so you might have to wait until I return on Mar 3. :o) Frank Noted a 'typo' in an item description on your "electronics" page: The Sentence begins: " Note: We can not Reordering the Dale Earnhardt Sr. . . . " You will notice that this doesn't make much sense. Just thought you'd like to know. Sincerely, Howard
Howard Hilman Hi Howard., Ok, As soon as I return from Jamaica, I will update the web site from reordering to reorder. I will also send you a little gift of appreciation. Thanks for letting us know. Frank Note: Howard did not leave an email so I do not think he got my reply, nor the free gift. Sorry Howard. If you read this, send me your address. Hi: I just found your website today and love it. When looking for products for our drivers, I did find a mistake on your "Electronics" page, under the 13" TV. It says "Yes! There in!!! Order Now". The word "There" is spelled incorrectly. When used this way, it should read "Their".
Sue Hafner. Jamestown, ND Hi Sue, Actually it's they're for "they are" in. :o) But you still found an error, and that's what we want so send me your address and I'll send you a little gift of appreciation. Frank Dear Road Trucker, Now, as far as the description on your site there was a small difference as far as the dimensions for the 12-Volt electric blanket. Your site shows a 58 x 41 blanket with an 8' cord and I received a 58 x 40 blanket with a 6' cord. I never would have noticed the difference until I started looking around your web-site for additional products such as the 3 outlet 12-Volt lighter adapter and seen your comments about reporting mistakes and getting a free gift (possibly)
Christina H. Havertown, Pennsylvania Hi Christina, 2' of cord is in the mail. Just kidding of course. Thank you. This is a great catch. People need to trust our product descriptions, so it's very important that they are accurate. And yes, your gift is on the way. Frank Note: Christina also included a nice complement on RoadTrucker. See Customer Feedback. Hello, I ordered from your site about a week ago and was back browsing the site when I noticed a mistake. On the hours of service page toward the bottom in red letters you spelled oppose with an a. I haven't received the items I ordered yet so I can't comment on them. You have an excellent site. Thanks
Jim Coble Texas Hello Jim, Thanks for the nice comments on our website. The particular mistake you found was actually changed a bit ago. You are probably reading an old page from your cache. Try refreshing the page. The browsers seem to be leaving older pages in much longer than they used to or more likely the server is caching them. Not sure what's going on there, but send me your address and I'll send you a little token of our appreciation just for caring enough to take the time and give us the feedback. Frank Hello, Safety Groups and Unionized Leaders appose [ oppose is misspelled as appose. I hope you don't think I am being picky, but your site is so professional, I hate to see anything spoil it ! Thanks
Anita Gilley. Hi Anita, Not any more it isn't. Spelling errors that have nothing to do with alternative spellings for the search engines are not welcome on our website, so this is not being picky. It is being caring and it is appreciated. Send me your address and I will send you a small gift of appreciation. Thanks. Frank Hello, Pretty neat site! I am not a trucker, but my husband's uncle is...just looking around for gift ideas...I did find a mistake on "Gifts and Things 5". Gifts is spelled 'Gifys'. Wouldn't mind getting the 'free gift' for my uncle-in-law. :) Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday season!
Emily S. Holly Springs, NC Hi Emily, What?? You never heard of a Gify? :o) Send me your address and I'll mail your free gify. Oh.. I mean Gift. Now don't expect a lot. It's just a little something, but it is useful. Frank Hello, I am a first time visitor to your website who is highly impressed. Your prices are competitive and the products are well known. I hate to point out a mistake yet here goes: "She not only got (received) it (for) herself, but she got it for everyone else too. We did changed (should read CHANGE) the offer from $200 ($200.00) to 5 items or more because of our low margins." ....... I'm not an English major although I train new 9-1-1 employees. My husband, Mich, happens to be the trucker in the family. I'm only the trucker's wife. I look forward to our future purchases with your organization. Many thanks, Tina Eder.
Tina Eder Baltimore, MD Hi Tina, Your so kind. Hate to point out mistakes when they are not appreciated, but enjoy pointing them out when they are asked for and we are asking for them. I left the "got" because on the web you want to write the way you talk, down to earth and she got them.. I see "receive" as being passive and "got" as being active; and Marla got them for herself.. :o) She was definitely active. I did change changed to change. Ha.. How's that for proper English? Say it fast 5 times and send me your address and I'll send you a little gift to say Thank You. Only a Trucker's wife? Many would say that's the best part of a good trucker. Frank ERROR REPORT hello I enjoyed browsing your online store and am considering purchase of the ac/dc TV/DVD for my recently acquired 1978 Toyota motorhome. Here is the error I spotted: http://www.roadtrucker.com/privacy-policy.htm 5th paragraph, 1st line "Some websites are tracking ever image that is ..." should be "Some websites are tracking every..." How about a 10% discount instead of a free gift? Want to go for double or nothing? (smile).
Perry Michael Koussiafes West Havana, FL Hi Michael, Glad you enjoy our website. We work hard to make it as friendly as possible and also interesting. You'll certainly enjoy that TV/DVD, but better get fast, we have sold out of all the others. Incidentally, we just lowered the price on our TV/DVD which will save you another $10. Frank Are there 2 different Super Bright LED Map Lights w/ flexable necks? On the "Must Have" pages, the LED light is $8.99, but on the "Bright Lights" pages, it is $20.99. Just wanted to know if they are 2 different lights or if one of them is priced wrong. Thank you, Carrie, daughter of a transporter
Carrie R Hazleton, PA Hi Carrie, Nope.. only 1.. :o) You caught an error, so send me your address and I'll send you a little thank you gift for your dad's Truck. Believe it or not, that error is going on a year old, since that was one of our first products. Thanks for taking the time to help us keep RoadTrucker free from errors. Frank There is a mistake in the text of your website. When you say "I am the wife and daughter of a trucker," you are saying that you are married to your father. I assume you are the daughter of a trucker and the wife of another trucker. A better way to say it might be "My father and my husband are both truckers."
Dan Shissler Ellensburg, WA Hi Dan, So glad you stopped at RoadTrucker. It now reads "I am the wife & daughter of Truckers". We sent you a little gift to say thanks for helping with our website. Enjoy that new camper. Frank Too easy. Maybe it shouldn't even count for your offer. On your special offers page, you have a list of links on the right hand column menu. http://www.roadtrucker.com/special-offers.htm The links all have periods at the end of the sentences except for ith one headed "Links Tor Truckers". Great site. Thanks for your offers. I hope to do lots of business with you as my wife and I go team OTR very soon
Dan Gilliam Drakes Branch, VA Hello Dan, And who says no one would notice..? :o) Good eye.. Send me your address and I'll mail you a little gift to say thanks for taking the time. And by the way, your comments are very much appreciated. Good luck to you and your wife and drive carefully. Thanks Frank
