Also, cruising sailors face some of the same issues as truckers; size, volume of the unit, power consumption, etc., and your site addressed all of them. Always nice to get feedback from our customers. You are basically right. The Rand McNally is "the best use of technology going". We have been selling about 80 to 100 units a month and I can tell you that almost everyone appreciates what the TND does for them. To date, we have had only 2 customer who have gone out of their way to complain about the TND. And it is always trivial complaints, that have nothing to do with the main purpose of the Truck GPs, which is to keep you safe (Low bridge Warnings) and save you money (Keep you off of restricted roads). Our customer know that the TND makes it very easy to send that information to Rand so they can correct it. And lets face it.. The TND is for truckers and truckers are responsible to make sure it is the best possible solution for their needs. After all, the benefit is to them. I might also add for other readers of this post, that Rand is coming out with a new unit designed specifically for RVers. Thanks for the great feedback. Like you, we are convinced that the Rand McNally is by far the very best Trucker GPS available in the market today and it continues to keep getting better. We have sold over 800 GPSes, last year and over 1/2 have been the two Rand McNally TND700s and the TND500s. The TND has passed every test with flying colors, except perhaps the install could be a little more robust. We love the TND and I use the TND700 myself, because I love the way the big 7" high definition screen clearly points out the way to o when I come to those multi-Highway exits. No other GPS does this so clearly. The TND was a wonderful gift that will help keep your husband safe from low bridges, save money on fuel and keep him from getting expensive tickets for being where he is not supposed to be. I know of the Skyworth from drooling over them at a trucktop that had the 19 and 22 in years back as a driver who said one of these days..... well, after open heart surgery I sold the big house I inherited, paid off all the bills bought my 2005 volvo (cash) and now! I get to get my 22 in Skyworth Ive been waiting for. I just bought this laptop and have really been reserching stuff before I buy it. I thought the suspersonic 1080 i had a nice picture but theyre have been issues with the power cord and picture quality over the years. But then I found the perfect 22in with all the bells and whistles and a dvd which is the cats meow. Since in all the trucks Ive driven or owned is the first thing to go. Even those who consider themselves to be savvy, do not always understand them, so felt a few pages of tips to help clear up any confusion would be helpful to our customers, as we want them to get value for their money and certainly be able to use the TV, as was intended. Issues will come up for all brands and all products. That is just a way of life, but the important thing is how well the product gets supported. Hi Frank, WOW! The TV arrived this evening and the other one is on it's way back. I can't believe that happened so fast. The replacement is the upgraded A-3 model mentioned in your voice mail and the factory packaging was undisturbed, all accessories accounted for. I gave it an hour to come up to room temperature (it's been cold in the Northeast) and then checked the operation. It functions perfectly and will be wrapped and under the Christmas Tree by tomorrow. Hi Road Trucker. Just wanted to say how happy I am to have found this website. You guys are just awsome. When I purchased my new gps for truck drivers I didnot expect to get any help. You guys (frank in particular) are the most helpful people in the trucking industry as far as i am concerned. You sent me avery nicely written help sheet on the gps before i even got the gps. It was easy to read and once i recieved the gps I had no trouble setting it up for my truck and start using it. Thank you for suggesting I consider the Rand McNally instead of the Garmin. I have 2 friends with a Garmin and both are unhappy with it. I love the tnd700. The big screen is awsome and you were right it does help you get through the multilane highway exits with ease. Your recommendations for the suggested setup changes made my tnd700 even better. But the 1 thing that impressed me the most and was way beyond any expectations on my part was when i had a little trouble with the part that connects to the computer coming loose. I sent an email and Frank told me to send it to him and he would replace it from his stock. I sent it Monday and got it back Thursday. I could not believe my eyes when I turned it on and checked it out. It was set up the way i had mine and my routes and history and even my state milage was in there. Frank had save my information and added it to the new replacement and even updated it with the latest updates. Who does that? No one. That is so far above and beyond the call of duty that you have a very loyal customer for as long as I drive my truck. I cannot thank you enough. That is REAL SERVICE!

Editor's note: This is how I ended with Joe, after failing to get him to realize that he was wrong in thinking that he could get almost $200 in shipping for $44. He ordered the Vu Qube which ships free and added a bracket and then selected 2-day which ONLY includes the bracket. The Vu Qube is entered as zero lbs in order to get the Free shipping, so there is no way to select 2-day for it without calling first. We tried to help him get his items on time by shipping the Vu Qube out of Salt Lake and sending the bracket 2-day from Wilmington, but Joe basically got ignorant and started to tell us we were fraudulent.. bla bla bla.. The sorry part of this, is that Joe would have gotten his products in 2 days, but he did not like the idea of paying $44 for the bracket to ship. Real cost to ship the bracket 2-day? $59. The Vu Qube would have been $140. He called us a liar bla bla bla, despite the fact, I actually sent him the UPS receipt and he could have easily used UPS to find the cost himself. Joe proved himself to be the most immature and outright ridiculous customer, we have had in the 7 years of doing business.

Here's an idea for you -- there may be some VW Camper owners who would like to get an Engle too. There's a web site ---www.samba.com that has a lot of members who get fix-up information, exchange info, and trade and sell parts in the classifieds. It may be worth becoming a "vendor" on their site and offer your products. Take a look, might sell a few for you!
I'd be happy to pass on my very positive experience. I think the key is that most Engle distributors just do the drop ship and it takes a while and who likes to wait. We do stock ALL of the Engel's that can ship UPS. The only 3 we do not stock are the larger MT60, MT60-COMBI and the MT80. And that is only because they go Truck freight, which is too expensive to pay for twice. We ordered a Skyworth television with a built-in DVD. It arrived in record time. There was a problem with the DVD part. (Thank heavens for that DVD!!). I emailed RoadTrucker and within an hour Frank was on the phone. Amazing customer service. Shortly after our phone conversation there was a pre-paid shipping document in my email to send the defective DVD to Skyworth. I sent it off the next morning and am sure I'll receive the replacement within a short time. This is by far the best customer service we have ever received from a company. Kudos to Frank. I would not hesitate a second to order again or to recommend RoadTrucker to any of my friends. I am one happy customer!

Since then I found out that the DVD might have been ok. They act peculiar, so if you have any trouble with the new one, do not push the DVD in. Let me know and I will walk you through it. Received the Skyworth TV this afternoon and I already have it hooked up and running. I was amazed how fast it got here. Your "Tips" below were really helpful - thanks. I had a little trouble figuring out switching from the scanned air/antenna stations to Direct TV but I finally figured it out. The wall mount that I have in my travel trailer fits the back of the TV but I am going to have to lower the bracket that screws through the wall to match the height of the Skyworth - no big deal. I think I am going to be very happy with it and make good use of it when I travel and I am not hooked to power and don't want to put up with the noise of a generator. Thanks for suggesting it & answering all of my questions.

My wife and all of our visitors were super impressed with the Skyworth 22" TV that I got for my travel trailer. I pulled the trailer to Colorado and stayed with friends during a wedding a week or so ago - everyone wanted to come in and see our trailer and all were impressed with the Skyworth TV as I showed them how it runs on 12v as well as 110v. I told them all where I got it and hope you get some business from showing it off.

I had that under cable or satellite, as they both use the Analog tuner. If you use the Coax in, you put it on TV and if you use the component in you put it on AV screen. Frank
After smoking my TV (2 wires, I had a 50/50 chance) I called Skyworth per your advice and sent them the TV 1 week and $50 later I'm back in business and happy. Ken

50/50 are not very good odds Ken. You should have cut only 1 wire on the plug. Then using an ohm meter or continuity tester, tested the cut wire to determine if it was the positive or the negative. i.e.. Positive going to the tip of the 12 volt plug. Then mark the cut wire plus or minus depending on where the other side of the cut wire went to. It really is very easy. There is no guessing. We do like the way Skyworth supports their TVs. Frank
Comments: DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!! We had to return something which they require to be done through email. I followed the website instructions and sent them all the info they needed in an email. I received an email back asking why I was returning it. I told them why I was returning the items and a back and forth started via email. I thought I was explaining myself well but the last email I received from them was very rude and demeaning. Frank was the one who wrote me and was so rude it was unbelievable. I followed up with a phone call to Frank which resulted in him telling me to "Grow Up" and in a sarcastic tone "You're right, youve got ALLLL the answers" and then he hung up on me. BOTTOM LINE, DONT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE.

There should not have been any issue here. All returns are covered by the return policy and they need to be documented in writing. You called on your father's behalf before any email was sent. Your farther was very incoherent. I believe it was because you called under the pretense of getting help with a setup. You obviously felt that if you kept talking loudly, that somehow that gave you the right to set our policy. It does not. Once the one sided conversation got to the point were trying to communicate with you was impossible, I saw no reason to continue with you. Yes, you were told you needed to grow up. As for helping our customers, we do take a lot of time to try and offer the best service possible. Not because we need to or because we owe anyone, but because Marissa and I feel it is the right thing to do. Whether it is just answering our phones after hours, or taking the time to write-up and send helpful tips on using your GPS, or just trying to give our customers support, so they do not have to wait in the queue for support from the manufacturers. I ordered your skyworth 22'' 12volt tv/dvd last week. I talked to you about shipping times and such on the phone because I have a camping trip comming up this weekend (it was for the R.V.). You not only offered free shipping on the item but it is in no way the usual FREE terms (4 weeks) I had the tv on my doorstep in 2 buisness days. You guys are awsome. And thank you for recomending the skyworth it looks like its going to be an awsome addition to the toyhauler.

About 10:00PM Saturday night I placed and order, only to find out that PayPal was using an old address I had changed 3 months ago. I fired off an email to Road Trucker to inform them of my screw up, and within a couple of hours, they had sent an email telling me they had cancled the order, and I should re-order once I got the adress squared away with Paypal. My account with paypay was credited for the amount of the cancled order, right away. No jerking around, and all about midnight on a Saturday night.They took care of busnies in a fast professional manor. This is the first time that I have used Road Trucker. Road Trucker has got to be the best online store I have ever done business with. I called on Sat. 4/24/10 with a question about a GPS unit and said I would order that afternoon but I didn't get a chance that day.
Imagine my surprise when I called on 4/26/10 to find out if they still had them in stock and was told they put my name on one 4/24/10 after I had called. Ican't get people I deal with all the time to lay anything away.
I ordered 4/26 at about 8:20 pm, when I got home 4/27 it had already shipped and I had it on4/28. The service was better than I have ever experienced on line, you are amazing the way you take customer service to the next level. That is customer service over the top. Telling everyone that asks and some that don't where I got it and how good the service was. I really appreciate it.

We try to give the best service we can on all products, but to be honest, we have more control over the TND700 Trucker GPS because it is one of the products we stock here in Wilmington. I would not be able to do that with some of our other products. With the Rand McNally GPS, since we do stock them, we can set one aside for our customer and ship it same day if it is ordered early enough. We can even ship it to Canada. If there is an issue, we can have our customer send it directly back to us for resolution which saves them about a weeks waiting if they had to send it back to the manufacturer. By the way, you should have also received an email we wrote up for our customers with tips on getting the most from your new Trucker GPS. Enjoy. Frank

After the mix up last week when you said you would check today to see when my new TV would be shipped, imagine my surprise when my receptionist at work called and said I had a package waiting in the lobby. Lo and behold there was my new TV. I actually took off work early, came home, hooked my TV up and watched the end of the delayed Nascar race.Thanks to the tips email you guys sent when I placed my order the setup was quick and easy and the picture is beeuutifuul!!! I received the Skyworth 22" TV last week and this Weds I brought it to my camp in Vermont. I have only 12 Volt batteries for power and gas lights. The camp is at 1700' on the mountain, I installed a 100 mile range large antenna on the roof. The Skyworth is everything you said it would be. The Picture and sound are perfect. Thank you for the tips you sent they were very helpful. I appreciate you keeping me informed about its arrival and this note. We try to treat our customers the way we want to be treated and with a very small exception, they very much appreciate us, as you do. We did have 1 customer who said he was disappointed that the DVD was actually on the Right side, but he did not want to return it (at our expense) for a Supersonic 22" TV/DVD with the DVD on the Left. By the way, we went ahead and purchased the 22" Skyworth TV/DVD just to make sure we finally got it right. Really a very nice TV. Don't forget you have a 1 year warranty, but we find the Skyworth holds up very well and I think this new 22" is the best Skyworth yet because of the surge & low voltage circuitry. I talked with Skyworth's North American president and suggested they work on a 12 Volt TV that runs on voltages from 10 to 14 to work with high output alternators and low battery situations where you must run off the battery alone. LOL Since I last emailed you, I rode with my husband in his truck and now I will be using the seat in the passengers seat. My back hurt so bad after just one load around town!! So not all was lost! I wanted to make sure I answered your email because of the understanding and acceptance of the Return policy. We have seen irresponsible and insecure customers go out of their way to blame us and give us a bad review and basically go to war, solely because they did not get their own way, when they wanted to violate the Return Policy. When you ask someone for something and they can only say yes, it is not really asking. It is demanding under the guise of asking. More people need to grow up and be like you. Your right, it never hurts to ask, but when we ask, like you, we should always allow the other person to decline. To me, it is the only acceptable human behavior. Hopefully others will emulate you and in dong so will make the life of their loved ones much easier, since any intelligent person realizes sooner or later, that we do not switch off ignorance, just because we go home. We must always try to act with dignity, honestly and respect, if we ever hope to be a good family person. Thank you again. By the way, I use one of those seats in my office. I have had lower back pains for years and since using the AirHawk, I have not had any back problems. It really does make a significant difference. The only Rude and disrespectful person was you, Ralph. You ordered a small TV, then called to request we change that to a larger TV. You talked to Marissa. Everyone (and I mean everyone) who knows or has ever met Marissa knows she is one of the sweetest people on the planet. She was NOT Rude Ralph and she did listen to you, over and over and over again. Marissa tired to tell you that the difference in price was an extra $112.33. But you had it in your mind that the difference between $279.96 and $167.63 was $100.95. We have 3d graders in this country that can subtract better than that. I was sitting right next to Marissa and I could hear every word you said to her. You were talking very loud and aggressive and in my opinion you were abusive to her. You kept interrupting her and telling her she was wrong and the difference should be $100.95. You must have repeated that at least 1/2 dozen times. Well she was not wrong Ralph, you were. My advice to you, is to grow up and learn to respect woman. Frank. I am impressed that Sears would recommend us. They are a pretty big chain. We have also had Circuit City and other large chains recommend us. Marissa and I decided to write tips on the TVS, Vu Qubes and Trucker GPS, because we find that many people have a bit of trouble with them. We started with the TVS because the instructions that come with them can be a bit confusing. Our basic goal at RoadTrucker is to offer the type of service that we would like to have when we shop and make a purchase ourselves. Unlike most internet stores, we actually buy the products and test them, go to the product shows and stock many of the products we sell. We understand the products and we understand the business. I am so glad you are a patient man. I checked all I could check and finally decided to box it up. The thing that was throwing me is that our other one I can leave both ac and dc plugs in and it changes automatically in the TV. Well when I hooked up the other TV after all the messing around, and plugged in just the dc, it would not work. This gave me an idea. I unboxed the other one, unplugged the RV from the ac and plugged in the TV. I have sound and a great picture. Now I know, one or the other, not both. Thankyou again for all the ideas. It made me think about some things anyway. You are great to do business with.
I don't quite understand what your talking about, but if I were to guess, I would say that when you plug into the 120 volt power source, it automatically shuts off the 12 Volt system. Not sure, unless I look at it. If this is the case, I do not understand why you were able to get a picture, unless it just interferes with the 12 Volt source a little. Anyway, as many of the Skyworths we have sold and also bought ourselves, we know it is an excellent TV. We even have a 32" 120 volt Skyworth. It is our favorite TV. Glad you got it working. Enjoy.. Editor's Note: Georgia was not getting sound using the 12 Volt adaptor, but did get sound with the 120 Volt adaptor. This means the TV was good, but we still needed to help her solve her problem, so several emails were sent back & forth.

In May, I paid $1979 to Frank at Roadtrucker.com for Engel and TwoZone refrigeration equipment. Included was $321 for insulation covers for each unit. I've been unable to get near the insulation covers because they give me a headache and put me into a stupor. I've aired them out over the summer, but that hasn't helped.
Frank was the friendliest, most personable retailer I'd met in a long time when I was buying this equipment. However, when I called to explain this problem, he was entirely different -- he told me I could throw the covers away or give them to a friend. When I asked for contact information for the two manufacturers, he gave me his email address, told me to "have a nice day," and hung up on me.

Yes Orion, but you set me up by continually repeating "What am I supposed to do with these covers". And what I said was "it is really is not ours to say. You can do whatever you want with them. Throw them away, give them to a friend, sell them on eBay or anything else.
I told you to have a nice day and hung up the phone, because I found you to be very repetitive and aggravating and felt it best to terminate the conversation. You know very well you were going to continue to beat on me until I told you to shove them where the sun don't shine. I chose not to do that. You had 30 days to return the items. You took 3 months. That's irresponsible. If you were a remotely reasonable person, you would not have even called, let alone try and stick me for $321.

I got the Vu Qube from RoadTrucker and it arrived in two days, awsome shipping. Also the person I talked to on the phone was very helpfull on answering all my questions, very knowledgable. If you are thinking about buying a Vu Qube you will not regret your purchase, I love it keeps me from going outside and setting up a dish in the cold weather. Here is some usefull info on the Vu Qube you don't need to put it outside I keep mine on the top bunk strapped down you just gotta make sure your truck is pointed south and you will find the satilite. Also I'm driving a freightliner condo cab but the top is made of fiberglass. If you put the Vu Qube on the dash when you park it works there. RoadTrucker love your site and I will be buying from you again, and if you have a suggestion on a new 40 quart cooler. I had the Coleman and it broke within a year so something else with about the same price range. Thanks again RoadTrucker. Sincerly
